On April 8, 2022, the General Administration of Customs took emergency preventive measures against 2 Uruguayan companies, due to the positive nucleic acid test of SARS-Cov-2 in 2 sample of frozen beef from Uruguay. The national customs suspended the acceptance of Uruguayan beef manufacturer Frigorifico Las Piedras S.A. (Registered number: 379) and Frigorifico Sirsil S.A. (Registered number: 85) import declaration for 1 week. Product declaration will resume automatically after expiration.
