On June 21, the General Administration of Customs released information on food and cosmetics that were not allowed to enter China in May 2022 that 186 batches of food and cosmetics were not allowed to enter China, including 185 batches of food and 1 batch of cosmetics.
According to the statistics that the food not allowed entry were from 23 countries or regions including Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Japan, Britain, Thailand, the United States, Afghanistan, Australia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Germany, China Taiwan, Indonesia, Russia, New Zealand, Mexico, South Korea, France, Singapore, Canada, Iran, Pakistan, Denmark. Among them, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Japan are the top three.
Place of origin of un-allowed foods
According to statistics, unqualified reason not allowed entry include: food label is unqualified, failure to provide the certificate or qualification documents required, goods do not accord to certificates, no inspection and quarantine access, sensory test failed, problem in the use of food additives and nutrition enhancer, microbial pollution problems, unqualified packaging, containing impurities, not supporting documents attached. In addition, some of the food has been found to have animal diseases, expired expiration date, contain animal or plant origin ingredients that have not been approved for inspection and quarantine, mildew, corruption and other problems.
Reasons for unqualification
Among them, unqualified labels ranked first, with 47 batches, accounting for 25% of the total number of unqualified food. The Measures for the Administration of import and Export Food Safety stipulates that the labels of imported food shall conform to Chinese laws and regulations and national food safety standards. The Chinese labels of imported health food and special dietary food must be printed on the minimum sales package and shall not be affixed.
