Vietnamese shrimp exports to China will continue to grow

 
Vietnam's shrimp exports were $457 million in May, up 31% year-on-year, with cumulative exports of $1.9 billion in the first five months, up 41% year on year, according to the news from the sea oodmedia on July 1. 
 
Vietnam's exports grew steadily to China in May, while export growth to the us slowed down. 
 
In the past few months, the United States has been buying shrimp products in huge amounts from Vietnam, Indonesia, India and Ecuador, leading to high inventories and reducing further demand in the U.S. market. US started in April to shrink shrimp imports. 
 
High inflation in the United States, China's new anti-epidemic policy, the continuing Russia-Ukraine conflicts , labor shortages and the difficulties of domestic supply chains have affected the sales and consumption requirements of American shrimp products. 
 
Exports to the United States are not expected to be as strong in the next few months as they are in the first few months of the year, and the U.S. demand for imports mayrebound again in September, with the demand for Thanksgiving and other year-end holidays. 
 
Vietnam's exports have been growing rapidly for China since March, with a 3-digit growth continously. 
 
From January to May, Vietnam's shrimp export growth rate rose by 126% -140% . In May the Vietnamese shrimp exports to China reached $88 million, up 126% year on year. In the first five months of this year, Vietnam's exports to China reached $275million, up 101%year on year. 
 
China is launching stimulating economic plans to encourage consumption, which will boost consumer shrimp consumption in China. The Vietnamese shrimps export is expected to accelerate continously in the coming months. 
 
Compared to to the overall trend of shrimp exports in May, Vietnamese shrimp are not expected to be too aggressive in the export of major markets, largely depending on the supply of raw shrimp, adverse weather and the unusual first rain of the season that have affected the production of farmed shrimp, which has had a negative impact on the source of raw shrimp. So in the next few months, raw shrimp are likely to be in short supply.
