The Indian government will impose export restrictions on wheat flour and semolina on July 12, according to the General Directorate of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
"Given the disruptions in the global supply of wheat and wheat flour, which have led to the emergence of many new participants and have caused price volatility, there are potential quality-related issues," the source said. Maintaining the quality of India's wheat flour exports is crucial. Thus the central government is adjusting the export policy of wheat flour. Wheat flour export policy will remain liberal, but exports will be subject to the recommendations of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on wheat exports. The notice is effective from July 12.
The restrictions involve wheat flour, whole wheat flour and semolina.
