On 12 July 2022, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) released the monitoring results of pesticide residues in food for the fourth quarter of 2021. A total of 1085 samples from 25 food categories were collected in the fourth quarter, of which 41 samples were tested to exceed the standard of agricultural residues. In addition to fruits, the main unqualified reasons included chlorate, diphenylamine and ethylphosphonic acid exceeding in 13 cereal baby food products, and flonicamid, profenofos and chlorate exceeding in 2 eggplant products.
