Singapore has issued import requirements for minimally processed fruits and vegetables

On 22 July 2022, the Singapore Food Authority (SFA) released the import requirements for minimally processed fruits and vegetables, which are as follows:
 
1. Minimally processed fruits and vegetables are processed foods. The importer applies to the SFA for registration as a processed food importer.
 
2. The importer shall provide supporting documents and laboratory reports.
 
(1) The supporting documents submitted (all at once) shall prove that the imported product is produced in the place specified by the competent authority of the country of origin. (Manufacturer's licence verified to be correct)
 
(2) Reports on chemical and microbiological tests of processed fruits and green leafy vegetables (e.g., lettuce, cabbage, flowering cabbage, etc.) should be submitted every six months. Non-green leafy vegetables (e.g., onions, potatoes, carrots, etc.) do not require laboratory reports. The contents of the laboratory report are shown in the table below.

3. importers should ensure that imported processed foods meet the standards set out in thefor Sale of Food  Act and Food Regulations of Singapore, including labeling requirements.
 
4. All importers shall submit the necessary documents and be subject to SFA inspection when declaring import license.
