On July 27, 2022, Germany released the 2021 annual monitoring report on food and cosmetics. The main contents are as follows:
(1) In terms of food, 47,627 food enterprises were inspected, and 7,484 of them had problems. The main problems included general hygiene control, HACCP implementation, labeling ,etc. A total of 38,309 kinds of food and 1,664 kinds of wine were tested, of which 6,881 were unqualified, mainly due to labels and microorganisms, etc, which decreased compared with the result of 2020. Special attention was also focused on listeria, with approximately 8,000 listeria program tests carried out on related foods and 33 companies producing ready-to-eat foods inspected. The results of a sample test for ethylene oxide was also reported, particularly mentioned that instant noodles in several countries and regions, including China, had been inspected.
(2) In terms of cosmetics, a total of 1724 samples were examined, with problematic products accounting for 22.1%. Unsafe substances were detected in 17 samples, including face cream, nail polish, hair dye, etc.
(3) In terms of drinking water, attention is paid to the problems of drinking water bisphenol A residue and cyanobacterial toxin caused by the use of epoxy resin inner pipes, and put forward suggestions to the competent authorities.
