On May 10, 2022, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued regulations to approve Antarctic krill powder as a pigment additive in salmonid fish feed.
However, the FDA did not receive any objections or requests for a hearing during the comment period and therefore confirmed the effective date of June 10, 2022 for the use of Antarctic krill powder as a pigment additive in salmon feed.
