On March 27, 2024, the Swedish Food Safety Authority issued a circular to amend the special food safety management regulations. Major revisions include:

(1) Stipulates that before special foods (such as food for weight control people, food for special medical use, etc.) are put on the market, importers or producers should file product information with the Swedish Food Safety Authority, including product name, type, use, product label, manufacturer or importer name and address, etc.;

(2) Stipulates that if there is a change in the registration information of a product already on the market, the importer or producer shall notify the Swedish Food Safety Authority of the correction information at the latest before the first marketing of the new product, but there is no need to file again when the change in the food label is limited to the font or color.

The amendment took effect from 28 March 2024.
