On June 28, 2024, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a food safety inspection notice.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency monitors chemical and microbiological hazard levels and develops risk management strategies. When a violation is found, the CFIA will take appropriate action, including notifying the manufacturer or importer, conducting further targeted sampling, or impounding or recalling the product.
The food safety monitoring notice covers pesticides and metals in bakery products, vegan products, fruit and vegetable products (2020-2021) and undeclared gluten in nut products (2021-2022).
