Recently, the Bureau of import and Export Food Safety of the General Administration of Customs of China updated the notes on frozen fruits in the "Food catalog of countries or regions that meet the requirements of assessment and review and have traditional trade" system: For frozen fruit products, quarantine access management is no longer implemented.

Industry sources say frozen fruit has been "completely liberalized". This means that frozen fruits from all countries can freely enter the Chinese market, and quarantine access management is no longer implemented.

In addition, in the latest list of plant-derived foods in the Customs food catalog system exported to China, there is no frozen fruit classification now. If you enter "frozen durian" in the plant-derived food query system, no relevant data is displayed. Frozen durians representing any region can be imported into the Chinese market, as can other frozen fruits.

Customs for frozen fruit instructions, generally refers to the removal of the edible peel, fruit core, after -18℃ or below quick-frozen treatment for not less than 30 minutes, and at -18℃ or below storage, transportation, and in line with the International Food Standards "frozen food processing and handling practices" (CAC/RCP 8-1976) requirements.

Frozen fruits do not need quarantine approval when entering the country, nor do they need to apply for entry animal and Plant Quarantine Permit. However, frozen fruits as edible products, frozen fruit processing plants and quick-frozen processing facilities to China still need to be recorded in the competent authorities of the exporting country, and submitted to the General Administration of Customs of China for review and approval by both sides. The quick-freezing treatment and refrigerated transportation procedures of frozen fruits exported to China need to be carried out under the official supervision of the exporting country.
