Ukraine established hygiene requirements for foods of animal origin in small batches

On November 8, 2024, the official announcement of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine issued Decree No. 3498, establishing hygienic requirements for the production and circulation of foods of small quantities of animal origin, which came into force on the date of the announcement. The main contents include:

 

(1) Applicable to the production and circulation of small batches of food of animal origin such as aquatic products, poultry meat and rabbit meat, and State veterinary inspectors are authorized to exercise state control in relevant facilities;

 

(2) The sanitary requirements for the production and circulation of eggs, aquatic products, poultry meat and rabbit meat, such as water products should avoid deterioration, direct sunlight or other heat sources and any pollution during storage, transportation and processing, visual inspection should be carried out on fish products, signs of disease or parasites have been found, and slaughter should meet animal welfare requirements. Fish products from fishing vessels should be gutted as soon as possible, and products and by-products should be separated.
