According to the Russian government, a 5% export duty will be imposed on the export of peas, chickpeas and lentils from January 1, 2025.
"As of January 1, 2025, regular duties will be imposed on the export of certain Russian legume crops outside the Eurasian Economic Union, including peas, chickpeas and lentils, at a rate of 5 percent of the customs value," the Russian government said in a statement.
The Russian government pointed out in the message that until the end of 2024, legume crop exports are subject to flexible export tariffs, which are 4% to 7% based on the ruble exchange rate.
Russia will impose high export tariffs on soybeans from February 1 to June 30.
