On January 7, 2025, the Ukrainian State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection announced that, in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine of April 19, 2024, it will begin to intensify monitoring inspections of local agri-food markets and food retail establishments.

The focus of the monitoring inspections will include the conditions of storage and sale of food products, availability of refrigeration equipment, cleanliness of trading premises and compliance with veterinary and hygienic standards. In addition, the inspections involve confirming the authenticity of documents accompanying the products, the quality and safety of the products, and the presence of markings indicating the manufacturer, date of production and expiry date.
