According to a set of data released by the South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) on the 12th, South Korea's Kimchi (Kimchi) exports and exports hit a record high last year.
Specifically, South Korea's kimchi exports last year reached 47,100 tons, an increase of 6.9%; Exports amounted to $163.6 million, an increase of 5.2%. Both the volume and value of exports hit record highs.
The number of kimchi exports increased from 85 in 2020 to 98 in 2023 and dropped to 95 last year. Last year, Japan imported the most kimchi, followed by the United States, the Netherlands, Canada and Australia.
