South Korea released the priority inspection items of first batch of imported food precision inspection 2025

On January 7, 2025, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea issued a notice to release the first batch of imported food precision inspection key inspection items in 2025, the main contents of which are as follows:

  

(1) Released the first batch of imported food precision inspection key inspection items in 2025, processed food mainly tar coloring, preservatives, antioxidants; health food mainly vitamin items; food additives, including heavy metal content, microbial contamination testing; livestock products, including cattle, sheep and pigs, such as drug residues, pesticide residue testing and so on;

  

(2) Proposed to require private testing and inspection organizations to test imported food, and issue the corresponding operational guidelines.
