October 11, 2022, the U.S. Federal Register news, the U.S. Department of Agriculture issued Notice No. 2022-22109, to revise the chickpea quality standards.
 

The main contents of this revision are:

1. The lower limit of moisture content for the high humidity chickpea category is revised from 18% to 14%;

2. Chickpeas with impurity content exceeding 2% will be considered as secondary products, replacing the original standard identified as substandard products.

The announcement will be officially published in the Federal Register on October 12, 2022, with a 60-day comment period.
