On November 7, 2022, Tanzania issued a notice of standard to establish five standards for edible oils (edible walnut oil, pistachio oil, flaxseed oil, mustard oil and unrefined shea butter). The draft standards mainly include terms and definitions, product classification, sensory and quality requirements, general production and processing hygiene control and the use of raw and auxiliary materials requirements, health requirements for pollutants, packaging, transportation, storage requirements, labelling requirements, sampling and testing methods, etc.
The call for comments is open until January 2, 2023.
