On May 10, 2023, the South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) issued Order No. 585 to revise the "Implementation Rules of the Management Support Law for the Promotion of Green Agriculture, Fisheries and Organic Food". The main contents are as follows:

(1) Organic food shall not be tested for synthetic pesticide ingredients, unless it can be proved that the detection of pesticide ingredients whose synthetic limit is less than or equal to 0.01mg/kg is due to non-human factors such as food additive pollution;

(2) All raw materials or materials used for processing (organic food) must be pesticide-free agricultural products, organic food or processed food without pesticide raw materials. Or the raw materials or materials of pesticide-free agricultural and organic food account for more than 50% of the total content. If the pesticide-free agricultural products, organic food, and processed food without pesticide raw materials cannot be purchased through commercial means, the non-pesticide-free agricultural products, organic food, and processed food without pesticide raw materials The content of raw materials or materials is 5% (except for artificially added water and salt when producing organic food). This revision is implemented from the date of publication.
