On June 13, 2023, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) issued a circular to revise the import conditions of fish offal and fish oil. The main contents include:

1. Redefining the name of fish oil to guide importers to comply with the appropriate import conditions and better clarify which fish oils require an import license;

2. "Human use" is changed to "fish oil, including salmon oil for human final use";

3. Change "not listed" to "others (including animal and environmental end uses)".

This regulation will come into effect on June 14, 2023.
