On October 23, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 137 of 2023, announcing that from now on, Thailand's fresh passion fruit that meets the relevant requirements will be allowed to import. Fresh Passion fruit includes Passiflora caerulea and Passiflora edulis.

The export orchard and packaging plant shall be reviewed and filed by the Thailand's Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (hereinafter referred to as the Thai side) and approved for registration by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side). Registration information should include name, address and registration number. Prior to the commencement of trade, the Thai side shall provide the Chinese side with the registration list, which shall be published on the website of the General Administration of Customs after China's examination and approval.

At the same time, the announcement also detailed the relevant requirements for imports, including packaging requirements, plant quarantine certificate requirements.
