On April 10, 2024, according to the Official Journal of the European Union, on April 9, the European Commission published Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1045, amending Regulation (EC) No 333/2007 as regards the methods of sampling and analysis for the control of levels of nickel in foodstuffs , and amending certain reference provisions. Article 1 of Regulation (EC) No 333/2007 is amended to read as follows:
(1) Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and perchlorates listed in sections 3, 5 and 6 of Annex I to Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/915 and acrylamide content controls listed in Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/2158 shall be implemented in accordance with the Annex to this Regulation;
(2) Paragraph 1 shall apply without prejudice to the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council;
(3) Annex (EC) No 333/2007 is amended in accordance with the Annex to this Regulation, which mainly amends "C.2.1. Specific requirements such as "Preventive measures and general considerations", "C.2.2.1. Specific Procedures for lead, cadmium, mercury, inorganic tin, inorganic arsenic and total arsenic, and nickel";
(4) This Regulation shall enter into force on the 20th day after its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
The Regulation is fully binding and directly applicable to all Member States.
