North Korea and China set up joint venture seafood processing plant

From SeafoodMedia, July 12, 2011 - Taegyong General Fishery Company in Kimchaek, North Korea, has established a joint venture with China to build a seafood processing plant and export its first seafood products to China.

 

Taegyong General Fishery Company in mid-June jointly introduced seafood processing equipment with the Chinese joint venture, completed the processing plant integrating fishing, processing, hygiene and product quality control, and the processing plant has started production, sending the first seafood for export to China on July 10.

 

China has set up factories in North Korea as a joint venture to sell processed seafood produced in North Korea around the world, while North Korea hopes to earn foreign currency by exporting products to China.
