On July 25, 2024, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (BMSGPK) and the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) jointly published the "Residue Surveillance Program 2023: Final Report on Milk, Eggs and Honey" (A-300-23), a report on the residue monitoring program for milk, eggs and honey.

The main points are as follows: A total of 569 samples were tested under the surveillance program in 2023. The overall non-compliance rate was 0.2%. Of these, honey: 173 samples, all satisfactory; eggs: 1+40 samples, all satisfactory, but florfenicol below the MRL was detected in one sample; milk: 246 samples, of which one milk sample exceeded the MRL for the presence of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug "diclofenac" at 0.98 μg/kg, which exceeded the MRL of 0.1 μg/kg and was found to be unsatisfactory; 2 samples of sheep's milk and 4 samples of goat's milk were satisfactory.
