Notice of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on Issuing the National Animal Disease Surveillance and Epidemiological Investigation Plan for 2020

On 22 July, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued the National Animal Disease Surveillance and Epidemiological Investigation Plan for 2020

The investigation plan mainly focuses on the surveillance and epidemiological investigation of African swine fever and "3+2" diseases (foot-and-mouth disease, highly pathogenic avian influenza, brucellosis, equine meliosis, equine infectious anemia) and foreign animal diseases such as bovine spongiform encephalopathy. The principles of this investigation plan are combining active surveillance with passive surveillance, surveillance with epidemiological investigation, pathogen surveillance with antibody surveillance, and disease surveillance with purification assessment.

The results of disease surveillance must be reported to the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center through the "Veterinary Health Comprehensive Information Platform" of China Veterinary Network. The results of epidemiological investigations and foreign disease surveillance should be reported to the China Animal Health and Epidemiology Center regularly.
