According to the monthly notice of unqualified foods and cosmetics by GAC, 201 batches of imported foods and 1 batch of imported cosmetics were found unqualified and refused for entry in October 2020.
Unqualified foods came from 31 countries or regions. Products from Belarus, 38 batches, were the most, all of which are frozen chicken wings.
The foods refused for entry did not comply with China’s laws and regulations. The main reasons of rejection were quality indicators (the most), unqualified labels, food additive use problems, failure to provide certificates or certification materials as required, detection of animal diseases, over-range or over-limit use of food additives, etc.
Statistics also show that Chengdu Port detected the largest number of unqualified foods, with 38 batches.
Unqualified cosmetic came from Italy, which was rejected due to failure to provide certificates or certification materials as required.
The above-mentioned unqualified foods and cosmetics had been returned or destroyed at ports, according to GACC.
