Eurasian Economic Union expands exports of poultry meat
According to the Armenian Satellite Network, the Ministry of Industry and Agro-Industry Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission revealed that the Eurasian Economic Union exported 80,000 tons of poultry meat in the second quarter of 2021, which is approximately 140 million U.S. dollars. The main export destination countries are China, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia. The total export value to the three countries is 116 million U.S. dollars, of which the export value to Saudi Arabia increased by 40% year-on-year.
According to the news, the Union’s poultry meat production has increased by nearly 10% in the past five years. The main exporters are Russia and Belarus, with exports accounting for 84% and 16% respectively. Armenia’s own production of poultry meat can meet one-third of the domestic market demand, and the other part is imported from Brazil, the United States, Ukraine and Russia.
