Australia is expected to delay the approval of import licenses for some products

On September 14, 2021, the Biosecurity import Conditions system (BICON) of Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment issued an early warning, which will delay the approval of import licenses for some products, including animal sources for human consumption, animal-derived and microbial-derived products for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. In order to avoid import obstruction, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment requires applicants for import licenses:

(1) Submit the license application in advance. If you want to continue importing the goods listed on the previous license, it is recommended to apply for a new license 3 months before the expiration of the previous license;

(2) When submitting a new application, ensure that all commodity-related information is provided in a timely manner, such as the questionnaire filled out by the manufacturer;

(3) When submitting materials, ensure that all product-related information is provided in a timely manner, such as the questionnaire filled by the manufacturer;

(4) If the applicant has special circumstances, he should promptly inform and apply for priority approval of the new permit or extend the validity period of the existing permit.
