On October 13, 2021, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment issued import industry advice notices 219-2021 that the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has approved Lithuania as a processing country for salmon and salmonid products.
Please note: This new approval is only for product processed in Lithuania. Lithuania is not currently approved as a source country for salmon products.
Salmon processed in Lithuania prior to export to Australia must be accompanied by a Government Health Certificate from the State Food and Veterinary Service of the Republic of Lithuania (SFVS), and must be sourced from one of the department’s approved source countries as listed below:
• Canada
• Denmark
• Republic of Ireland
• Norway
• United Kingdom
• United States of America.
