On October 25, 2021, Japan solicited public comments on the partial revision of the "Liquor Tax Law" and the "General Rules for the Interpretation of the Alcohol Administrative Law" (draft), and the feedback period ends on December 1, 2021. The main revised content is in the "minimum items that need to be added during the feeding or manufacturing process for the purposes of promoting fermentation or preventing accidental hazards during manufacturing":
(1) Adjust the order of "vitamins (thiamine hydrochloride)" and "antacids (calcium carbonate, ammonia)";
(2) Newly added filter aid (polyvinyl alcohol polypyrrolidone);
(3) In addition to oxygen and carbon dioxide, “argon” is added as gas;
(4) Delete "argon gas" in the "production process of fruit wine and sweet fruit wine".
