On February 14, the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued Announcement No. 2022-90 to revise some of the contents of the "Standards for Labeling of Food", the main contents of which are as follows:

a. Adjust the relevant terms and definitions in the standard as the date labeling of food is changed from "circulation period" (literal translation in Korean) to "expiry period".

b. Modify the method of using the production date to mark the "circulation period" of the food in its natural state, the production date or the packaging date can be used.

c. Revise the nutritional intake standard of Koreans, and plan to increase the standard of 3 essential fatty acids (linoleic acid, α-linolenic acid, EPA+DHA).

Comments on the above content will be closed until March 16, 2022.
