On 20 April 2022, the Polish Agricultural and Food Quality Inspection Agency issued a report on commodity quality inspection of edible fats involving 73 entities, including 14 producers and 59 shops.  The inspection items included sensory, quality and label. Among the 62 samples, 1 was found unqualified due to mildew.  In the physical and chemical indexes of 84 samples, 13 samples had problems (15.5%), the unqualified reason was that the fat content was underestimated or overestimated, and the salt content was underestimated.  The labels of 157 lots were checked and 39 of them (24.8%) were found to be substandard. The reasons included not declaring the percentage of salt content in the ingredient list, not mentioning the beta-carotene used in the manufacturing process in the finished product ingredients, and misstating nutritional value and manufacturer's data.
