The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has pushed up wheat prices in Africa by 60 percent

Wheat prices in Africa have risen by 60% due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Maize and other cereals will also be affected. The president of the African Development Bank, Adesina, said Tuesday.  The conflict between Russia and Ukraine could create a global food crisis, especially in Africa, which imports most of its food from Russia and Ukraine.  Adesina also revealed that the African Development Bank has drawn up an Emergency food plan for Africa, with a budget of us $1.5 billion, to avert a food crisis on the continent and mitigate the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in Africa.
