10 June 2022, Russian Federal Bureau of Technical Regulations and Measurement issued three new food standards for milk fat substitutes (GOST31648-2022), semi-finished ground meat products used in infant food (GOST34846-2022), and histological method for the determination of animal connective tissue protein in meat and meat products (GOSTR70145-2022). It will be implemented on January 1, 2023. The main contents are:
(1) Milk fat substitutes (GOST31648-2022) are suitable for milk fat substitutes used in food production in various food industries.
(2) Semi-finished ground meat products for infant food (GOST-3-34846-2022) apply to semi-finished ground meat products for children over 1.5 years of age and for sale in trade and public catering.
(3) The histological method for the determination of animal connective tissue protein in meat and meat products (GOSTR70145-2022) is applicable to meat and meat containing products, including poultry products. A histological method for the determination of animal connective tissue protein has been established to identify the species of slaughtered animals such as beef and pork.
