Indonesia has lifted restrictions on testing for radioactive material in food imports from Japan

On July 29, 2022, Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced that Indonesia has lifted restrictions on testing radioactive materials in food imports from Japan that have been in place since the accident at Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant. After the accident at Tokyo Electric Power's Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant, Japanese agricultural products exported to Indonesia were required to submit inspection reports for radioactive materials. At the Japan-Indonesia summit on Wednesday July 27th, President Joko Widodo announced the lifting of all import restrictions on Japanese food products.
