UK study to discuss official testing methods for GM component in Chinese rice and rice products

According to the UK government website on July 29, 2022, the UK's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), Food Standards Agency, Food Standards Scotland and other departments jointly organized a webinar to discuss the official testing methods for genetically modified (GM) component in rice and rice products from China. The webinar was attended by the above officially controlled laboratories, the food industry and staff associated with the UK officially controlled system.
The main contents include: a description of the current official methods used in screening for GMOs in rice and rice products originating in China; Legislation relating to the regulation of genetically modified organisms, as well as guidance and best practice content on the implementation of official methods; Interpretation of test results, information about accepted sources of appropriate reference materials, and suggestions for experimental design are discussed.
