Australia and New Zealand issued amendments to Food Standards Code 210

On 12 August 2022, the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has published an official Gazette on amendments to the Australian and New Zealand Food Standards Codex No. 210. The main standards to be amended are:

Standard 1.1.1 - Structure of the Code and general provisions
Standard 1.1.2 - Definitions used throughout the Code
Standard 1.2.1 - Requirements to have labels or otherwise provide information
Standard 2.6.2 - Non-alcoholic beverages and brewed soft drinks
​​Amendment 210 contains amendments for the following new Standards in the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code

Standard 4.2.7 Primary Production and Processing Standard for Berries
​Standard 4.2.8 Primary Production and Processing Standard for Leafy Vegetables​
Standard 4.2.9 Primary Production and Processing Standard for Melons
The Proposals under which these amendments are made are as follows:

Proposal P1030 – Composition and Labelling of Electrolyte Drinks
Proposal P1052 – Primary Production and Processing Requirements for Horticulture (Berries, Leafy Vegetables and Melons)​
