On May 30, 2024, the Singapore Food Authority (SFA) issued a news release stating that it is suspending the importation of poultry and its products from the vicinity of the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) outbreaks in Australia, South Korea and the United States.

Due to the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) outbreaks in Victoria, Australia, Minnesota, USA and South Korea, Singapore will impose temporary restrictions on the importation of poultry and their products within 10 kilometers around the affected areas of the outbreaks. Poultry products that meet the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) heat treatment requirements for avian influenza virus inactivation will not be affected by the import restrictions.
