FSANZ proposed to approve acetolactic decarboxylase from genetically modified Bacillus licheniformis as a processing aid

According to the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), on January 3, 2025, FSANZ issued Notice 323-25, Application A1321, Application for Acetolactate decarboxylase (Acetolactate decarboxylase) from genetically modified Bacillus licheniformis as a processing aid.

  

According to the notice, the Acetolactate decarboxylase is used in brewing processes and other grain-based beverage and beverage alcohol (distilled) production processes.
