Vietnam's New Labeling Regulation Takes Effect: Electronic Labels Incorporated into Law, Expanded Liability Entities, and E-commerce Platform Accountability
On January 23, 2026, the Vietnamese government issued Decree No. 37/2026/ND-CP, namely the Regulation Detailing Several Articles of the Law on Product and Goods Quality (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulation"). The Regulation further specifies the 2007 Law on Product and Goods Quality and repeals the previous Decree on Goods Labeling (43/2017/ND-CP) and related regulations. It consolidates product labeling requirements into the product quality management framework and introduces significant revisions and supplements, particularly regarding electronic labeling requirements and the identification of responsible entities on labels.
